I love how Nature speaks to us in many different, yet strikingly beautiful ways. This blog is a collection of my conversations with the wonderful world we live in. If you are a lover of Marathi verses, I hope you will enjoy and indulge your imagination. Your comments are very much appreciated.
So I have been learning to play the Sitar for the last 12 months from the amazing Sitar maestro Shri Ravindra Chary, who is one of the best Sitar instrumentalists in the country today. I was thrilled when he asked me and a few of his students, to perform with him at Ravindra Natyamandir in Mumbai last week. I was a bit nervous initially, but sometimes a little bit of nervous energy is good I guess. Makes you practice harder and perform better.
The performance went well and after a big sized wait, I finally managed to upload this video to Youtube! Here you see a mesmerising fusion of Djembe, Tabla and Sitar getting together for the beautiful Raga Hansadhwani on the Sitar. The energy in the auditorium was infectious, the atmosphere was bubbling with applause and excitement, easily one of the best experiences I've had in my life!
